I am passionate about technology, education, leadership and people.
I work in cyber security trying to design better ways to engage everyday folk to understand and take command of their online safety.
I work closely with the University of New South Wales supporting the skills initiative to develop the next generation cyber security professionals. For the past 12 months, I've acted as a security engineering tutor at UNSW, and as course administrator of UNSW's Security Engineering online MOOC.
I am a graduate of Computer Engineering (Hons) at the University of New South Wales, in which I specialised in security and embedded systems. My thesis was developing a prototype device to secure user personal data and protect IOT devices by leveraging a distributed permission ledger. The rest of my studies focused on software development, hardware design & FPGA programming.
My previous work has included web development and consulting in freelance and in full-time positions. If you are interested in a proposal for a web development project, please contact me to determine my availabilities.
Outside of work I have extensive community involvement. I have spent two years as president of the Young Scientists of Australia, four years as a facilitator at the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA), three years as Social Media and Marketing manager for Rotary Carols on the Common (RCOTC) and seven years as an ex-companion at the Ignatian Children's Holiday Camp (ICHC). I now serve on the committees of RCOTC & ICHC.
